I'm going to run away and hopefully not write the other/follow-up idea that is poking my brain.
I was never really able to get into Game of Thrones for a couple of reasons. No access to HBO in the early years was a big one, but once I heard how much sexual assault was in the early seasons, I knew I had to bow out. Despite 90% of this being very up my alley, sometimes, something isn't for you. But, through a series of watch parties with a friend, I ended up watching most of season seven and then I watched season eight as a "being part of the cultural moment." I don't remember how I ended up on AO3, but one thing led to another, and suddenly, I had ideas. So I did something I never do; I started writing with zero plan and that was how Revenge is a Wild Justice came to be. I had maybe three or four scenes in my mind I was writing toward, but I was mostly getting there with no real plan. I ended up planning things out much later in the game, but that wasn't until close to chapter 35 and it was a rough outline. Despite all of that and my threadbare knowledge of the world, people really liked the fic.

There have really only been two or three times in the last decade or so that I have written something other than a canon AU. I tend to tweak something in an established universe and then kind of hang out there. It's comfortable for me and one of the reasons there are eleven series listed on my AO3 account. One of the big ones is the Ten Years Gone series, which is a Teen Wolf Supernatural Hunter/Demon AU, the second is a one-shot Avengers Inception AU, I Don't Sleep (I Dream), and the third one was a Daniel Craig era James Bond AU where Bond and Q are criminals and Eve is 007 trying to hunt them down. The funny thing is almost all of them were inspired, at least on some level, by either graphic or gif edits on Tumblr, so thank you, Tumblr people. The first fic is Smooth Criminal, which was a working title that just never went away and was written in 2013. For a long time, nearly a decade, it was a one-shot, but for NaNoWriMo 2021, I decided to return to the universe and wrote The Saddest Thing About Betrayal. I have labeled this series as finished, but as you can see, I never intended it to be a series in the first place, so here we are. It's only two fics long, with one rated M and the other E. They vary in length, with Smooth Criminal coming in at ~28k and The Saddest Thing About Betrayal is ~70k for a total of 97,676 words.

I haven't been here long and it's always a rollercoaster. There is Everything with Gaiman, which is its own can of worms, but I've had a weird relationship with these two fandoms as well. I wrote Sleeping Wake/Waking Sleep in November 2022 and let it sit in my drafts until early 2024. I just didn't feel confident in posting it which hadn't happened with me and fic in a long time, but I did finally get it out there. Dead Boy Detectives was the polar opposite. I jumped in within weeks of the show debuting, which I rarely do, and here we are. This series currently has four works, 139,416 words, and ratings range from T to E. It's not complete because I plan on returning to it very soon.
Before Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I considered myself a casual Star Wars fan. I had seen all of the movies and really enjoyed them, but never really engaged in the fandom. However, that movie did what Disney wanted it to and brought me into the fandom. Unlike most people, I immediately jumped on the Rey/Finn/Poe bandwagon and wrote Like An Exposed Nerve in 2018. I also saw Rogue One and to this day, that's my Star Wars movie and I adore it. I got the idea for That Which Is Lost By Not Trying mere weeks after seeing the film, but it wasn't until the Fanfic Frenzy of 2020 that it finally got written. Then, I came up with a way to connect my two sequel trilogy fics with my Rogue One AU and we went from there. Following the release of the last sequel trilogy film, I also added a one-shot after the events of Like An Exposed Nerve. I've had an idea for a fifth story in this series for a long time, but it has felt too similar to previous entries, and I worry no one would be interested. Three out of the four fics are multi-chapters and 25k+ with one one-shot with the total for series being 102,501 words. The three multi-chapter fics are R/M for Mature while the one-shot is NC-17/E for Explicit.

I'm not usually one to write well outside of canon. Usually, I'll go with canon divergence or something like that, but the Ten Years Gone series is probably the biggest exception to that rule. I saw a tumble post about a Supernatural AU that got stuck in my head, I signed up for the Teen Wolf Big Bang after that fandom sucked me in, and it was all downhill from there. To this day, (Take Away This) Ball and Chain, the first in the series, is one of my highest in terms of kudos and hits. Parts one through six were written between late 2012 to late 2013. I returned in 2016 for part seven because I always had vague ideas for two more entries, and as part of my 2020 pandemic writing spree, I finally finished the final entry in the series. This is one the rare series marked as "completed" and I don't plan on changing it. The fics range from PG-13/T for Teens to R/M for Mature and vary in length from 25k+ multi-chapter fics to one-shots that are only a couple thousand words long. It spans eight total works and a total word count of 144,420.

If you look at my fic writing history, you'll see a rather large gap between 2007 and 2010. The reality is I was in the process of having a complete mental breakdown, which eventually led to hospitalization and moving back home. So fandom and writing weren't hugely on my priority list even if I never gave it up, I was doing more original stuff during that time, but in 2010, I ended up seeing Inception, and I really liked it. It was there that I found the "party post" over on Oh No They Didn't, which let me find fanfiction again and, eventually, Inception Kink. Despite being in fandom for nearly a decade, I joined very young [14], so I didn't know what a kink meme was. I found so many, not even smutty, prompts and wrote my little heart out that, to this day, Inception towers over everything else on AO3 in terms of sheer quantity of fics.

I didn't mean for this series to happen. I went into it with the complete intention of doing a one-shot. Then the response was so good and peer pressure works and in two months I wrote nine stories with an overarching storyline. The Sweet Compulsion Of Music is a series of fanfictions set within the universe of The Witcher. It is an alternate universe after season one of the show and largely focuses on the developing relationships between Jaskier, Yennefer, and Geralt. It is nine fanfiction long as of January 2025, 102,518 words, written over the course of May 2020 to July 2020. They are rated PG-13/T to NC-17/E. It's marked as complete for now, but I've been low-key outlining a tenth entry for a long time -- life just happened and I haven't figured out how to make it work.

We're also doing something we haven't done in a while: posting as I write the story, and things are already out of control. This wasn't supposed to be the first part, but the first part is already pushing 5,000 words, so here's part one. I am working on getting back into daily writing after a months-long slump. So no promises on how fast I'll get this stuff out; I'm a sucker for kudos and comments like anyone else. The entire thing is plotted out, though. This technically takes place in the same universe as my fic Sleeping Wake/Waking Sleep, but that won't come in until later, and it's mostly a connection with Johanna. I'm also painfully American, so if my Brit speak is terrible, just give me a pass, I know. Also, I know Niko's explanation is extremely vague, we're just handwaving past that. It's not the focus of this story.

The good news is that nearly all of the plot stuff is wrapped up, so now the last chapter will be an extended epilogue with reunions, fluff, smut, and all of that fun stuff. It might take a little while to get here because I do leave for a work trip tomorrow [I'm an entertainment journalist, and I am flying out to cover the D23 Expo], so I'm not sure how much if any, time I'll have to write before Monday. I also don't know if there will be any posting on my Tumblr either, but I'll do my best. As always, your support means the world and then some to me.

So I've pushed the chapter count up to thirteen so we can have a nice little epilogue type of thing with some fluff and maybe a little smut to counter all of this angst. I wasn't initially going to bring Hob into this story, but once I got the idea, I wanted to. He's fun to write, and I love writing the dynamic he and Johanna have in this universe because they are both in relationships with Dream but aren't together. They are besties who like to have stitch and bitch conversations about establishing healthy boundaries while dating a god. Anyway, I know some of you wanted Edwin or Charles to take care of Paul, but neither of them would want that for the other. I played fast and loose with Edwin's backstory at the beginning of this story; just roll with it. Onto the next chapter! Notes: Hello everyone. So, this isn't where this chapter was supposed to end, but the final section felt like a good place to end a chapter, and I decided over 6000 words was long enough for a chapter. This chapter does use the tags, more specifically, the violence and angst tags. By the end of the chapter, you can see that things are starting to look up. We only have a portion of the bad guy's story as well, so if it seems incomplete, that's because it is. I have some thematic parallels we'll be exploring in the next two parts. We'll see, and we'll have to see how long I want the last chapter to be. This one is an emotional rollercoaster. We're going to start out very heavy with a flashback to Charles's childhood and an incident involving his father. It's not super graphic in the violence, but it's a pretty heavy situation. The parallels between how Charles feels in that situation inform his feelings and actions for the rest of the story. If you really don't want to read it, start reading at "When he woke up the following day." Charles will say what happened toward the end, but a very brief explanation. I promise the end of the chapter is a lot less heavy. I continue to post previews regularly on Sunday and Wednesday over on Tumblr.
